Marvelous has officially announced the North American release windows for the latest Senran Kagura titles. The two upcoming releases include mainline title Burst Re:Newal, and the massage simulator to be officially known as Senran Kagura Reflexions (not Refle, as many outlets were initially reporting).
Pushing the limits of 2D intimacy, Reflexions (due this summer) will allow players to touch, rub down, and otherwise massage the series’ iconic Asuka. Through reflexology and the art of interactive story telling, players will be able to use the Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers to experience haptic feedback and a new sense of digital intimacy. Already out in Japan, the NA release of Reflexions will follow suit with Yumi, Murasaki, and Ryona being made available as post-launch DLC.
A self-described “director’s cut,” Burst Re:Newal (due this fall) is a 3D remake of the 2011 side-scroller due out this coming autumn on the PS4 and PC. The game will continue championing its Musou-style combat while expanding on franchise feature favourites like the dressing room. The official press release also cites new character models, a needed upgrade in the eyes of many. The URL and blog post list the title spelling as “Re:Newel,” but we’re pretty sure it’s still “Re:Newal.”
We’ve embedded Marvelous’ teaser compilation below, which contains gameplay footage of both Reflexions and Burst Re:Newal. In the meantime, you might consider purchasing a dakimakura of your favourite ninja girl to tide you over.
